Do you LOVE bacon? Do you love cabbage? If your answer was yes then this recipe is for you.
Here are the ingredients for this delicious side dish:
•1-2 heads of Cabbage
•1 package of bacon (ANY flavor you like, I normally use Smithfield Applewood)
•Lawry’s Seasoning Salt
•Crushed Red Pepper (if you like a little spice)
Start by cutting and rinsing your vegetables. This prep work will make the cooking process very smooth!
Next you’ll cut and cook the bacon until it’s crisp. Remove the bacon from the pan, leave some of the bacon drippings in the pan, and let the bacon drain until you’re ready to use it.
Put your onions into your pan with the bacon drippings and let them sweat until translucent. You only want to put a couple of handfuls of cabbage in at a time and season each layer with the Lawry’s, garlic powder, black pepper, and crushed red pepper. Cook until the cabbage is the the texture you like…I like mine with a little crunch, not too much…my family on the other hand likes it a little softer.
Now for the finishing touch. I always add the bacon JUST before serving, so it doesn’t loose its crunch. Stir it in and ENJOY!!!
